Our People

Our people

Our experienced educators are friendly and committed to providing children with the best possible start in life. Our centre provides a warm and comfortable environment where your child will feel a real sense of belonging. As a smaller centre we have the benefit of being able to get to know every single child personally. Knowing their preferences and characteristics allows us to create really meaningful, personal and fulfilling learning experiences.

What makes you passionate about working in childcare? I am so passionate about the future of Australia and that future includes the children that we are teaching in our wonderful small, home-like centre at Stepping Stones. Every day I come in to work and see the children’s faces with big smiles, hear their laughter and the discussions that take place, either spontaneously or through our Educators intentional teaching and scaffolding, it is just a great start to the day! It is such a privilege to be a part of children’s early years and to guide them from 6 weeks until they are ready for their Primary Education at 6 years. We as Educators, play such an important role in a child’s development and it gives them such a great head start for a lifelong love of learning.

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare? There are always funny/memorable moments working in childcare. If I had to choose one (working in childcare for 17 years, it is hard to just pick one!) it would have to be a memorable moment for me; moving up from Lead Educator to Centre Manager. I have worked extremely hard to be in the position I am in and I feel so lucky to be involved in such a great organisation like Affinity Education.

Why do you believe your centre is an excellent choice for parents seeking the best childcare? Like I previously stated, our Centre is so different from most Long Day Care Centres in Young; it is a small (59 placed) centre that has been remodelled from an old home, giving it that “real” homely feel. It is very open providing opportunities for constant communication and discussions for Educators and children alike. All the Educators are fully trained by Government approved organisations and are passionate about their careers and the importance of their roles in the lives of your children. At Stepping Stones ELC we provide all meals ranging from morning tea to late afternoon tea that are nutritionally based and super tasty. The Educators find new ideas to promote the love of learning for each child’s individual learning needs and use their interests and knowledge to do so. Our Centre offers so much more and the best way to understand this is to come down and visit us! We always welcome walk throughs or booked tours and are proud to show everyone what our beautiful centre has to offer!
